As a Psychologist Southern Sydney (PSS) therapist, Irene shares our values of providing an empathetic, caring and professional approach to her counselling sessions, valuing the importance of building rapport and tailoring sessions according to the unique goals of each individual. She collaboratively assists clients with developing the necessary skills to achieve their personal goals, generating helpful perspectives and ways of thinking and practical strategies to enhance satisfaction and well-being. Irene encourages an exploratory approach with clients and enjoys building inner resilience, life balance and contentment.

Irene is a Registered Psychologist with over 10 years of experience in counselling and clinical psychology. In that time she has gained a wealth of specialist skills and experience in working with adolescents and adults of a broad age range and backgrounds.

Currently, she works with clients on a large variety of emotional and behavioural issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief/bereavement, relationships, substance abuse, workplace issues, chronic pain and self-esteem.

Her training includes a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) Honours and specialised evidence based therapy training, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focussed Therapy.

Irene also has experience in employee assistance (EAP) counselling, vocational and rehabilitation assessment. She is knowledgeable in supporting individuals with intellectual, learning and physical disabilities in sustaining employment and managing related issues, such as performance anxiety. She is also skilled in using psychometric tools to assess IQ levels and explore learning limitations to assist with managing long term functioning. Irene has worked extensively with government and corporate organisations, with particular focus on employment and vocational psychology and holds a Diploma qualification in Business and Human Resource Management.

Irene also speaks Greek for non-English speaking clients.

As an individual, Irene has strong family values, is well-travelled and has undertaken volunteer work. To balance her personal and work life, Irene believes in healthy eating and fitness and enjoys relaxation through music and her interest in visual arts.
